FIMA – Exhibition of Agricultural Machinery 2028 – Zaragoza, Spain
What to expect
FIMA – Exhibition of Agricultural Machinery is one of Spain’s major international trade fairs dedicated to agricultural machinery, farming technology and solutions for modern agriculture. Organised by Feria de Zaragoza, the event brings together manufacturers, distributors, farmers, cooperatives, agricultural engineers, technology companies, researchers and other professional visitors from Spain and international markets.
The 2028 edition is being developed as the 45th edition of the International Agricultural Machinery Fair. The organisers describe FIMA as an international meeting point where agricultural machinery, innovation, technology, professional knowledge and business opportunities come together. The 2028 edition is expected to build on the strong international profile established by recent editions, with the organiser currently promoting more than 1,200 brands and exhibitors, more than 100,000 square metres of exhibition capacity and more than 50 conferences as the scale associated with the upcoming edition.
Visitors can expect a large-scale exhibition covering tractors, harvesting machinery, irrigation, agricultural components, digital agriculture, crop protection, agro-energy, forestry equipment, transportation, storage and other technologies used throughout the agricultural production cycle.

Venue & exhibition site
FIMA 2028 will take place at Feria de Zaragoza, the large exhibition complex located on the A-2 motorway at kilometre 311 in Zaragoza. The venue is one of Europe’s major exhibition centres, with more than 360,000 square metres of overall site capacity and 11 exhibition halls.
The exhibition site is designed for large international trade fairs and provides extensive indoor and outdoor areas, visitor services, restaurants, parking, accessibility facilities and conference infrastructure.
FIMA’s scale is particularly important because agricultural machinery often requires substantial exhibition space. Tractors, harvesting equipment, implements, irrigation systems and other large machinery can be displayed at a scale that allows professional visitors to inspect equipment closely.
The site also has a conference centre that supports technical meetings, presentations, forums and professional activities associated with the exhibition.
Full event programme
The complete FIMA 2028 programme has not yet been published in full. Feria de Zaragoza is already promoting the programme section for the upcoming edition, but individual sessions, speakers and final activity times are still being developed.
The programme is expected to combine several types of activities:
- Technical conferences and professional presentations
- Agricultural sector forums
- Machinery and technology presentations
- Innovation and technical awards
- Networking and business meetings
- Talent and employment activities
- Digital agriculture discussions
- Rural development topics
- Product demonstrations and commercial presentations
Recent FIMA programming has included the National Forum for Rural Development, the FIMA Gala, technical conferences, innovation awards and FIMA Conecta Talento. The organiser has also developed FIMA Tech as a dedicated area focused on agricultural digitalisation and technology.
The final 2028 programme should therefore be checked through the official event platform before planning individual conference visits.
Key speakers & keynote speakers
The official organiser has not yet released a complete list of keynote speakers for FIMA 2028. Individual speakers, moderators and conference participants should therefore not be treated as confirmed until they appear in the official programme.
FIMA traditionally brings together representatives from agricultural machinery companies, farming organisations, government institutions, research organisations, technology businesses, engineering firms and professional associations.
The event’s organising structure also reflects this broad industry involvement. Companies and institutions associated with FIMA’s organising committee include organisations such as KUHN Ibérica, CLAAS, Antonio Carraro, Kverneland Group, Agragex, Agrator, Fertinagro Biotech, Gascón International, Gobierno de Aragón and the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. Their involvement demonstrates the breadth of the agricultural ecosystem represented around the fair, although participation in the organising committee should not be interpreted as confirmation that every organisation will exhibit or provide a speaker at the 2028 edition.
Conference sessions & tracks
The conference programme for FIMA 2028 is still being developed, but the fair has established several recurring areas of professional discussion.
Agricultural technology and digitalisation
Digital agriculture, precision farming, data management, automation, connected machinery and technology-assisted decision-making are increasingly important parts of the FIMA programme. The introduction of FIMA Tech provides a dedicated platform for companies, startups, research centres and institutions working on digital transformation in agriculture.
Rural development
FIMA has hosted the National Forum for Rural Development, providing a platform for discussion around agricultural development, rural businesses, productivity and the future of farming communities.
Machinery innovation
Technical innovation is a major theme of the fair. The Technical Innovations Competition recognises agricultural machinery, equipment, services and technological developments that demonstrate new functions, improved performance, reliability or other advances.
Water and irrigation
Irrigation, energy efficiency and water management form one of the event’s strategic industry sectors, reflecting the importance of efficient resource management in modern farming.
Talent and employment
FIMA Conecta Talento links students, technical professionals, educational institutions and companies. Its focus includes employability, knowledge transfer, professional development and technology-related careers within the agri-food sector.
Session times & schedule
The overall opening schedule has been announced, but the detailed timetable for individual conferences and presentations has not yet been published.
The organiser has established that the exhibition operates from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on the first four days and from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on the final day. The detailed conference schedule is expected to be released closer to the event.
When the programme becomes available, visitors should use the official FIMA website or event application to identify session locations, speakers, registration requirements and potential capacity restrictions.
The FIMA app has historically been used to provide professional accreditation, event agendas, exhibitor information and pavilion maps, making it a useful planning tool for visitors.
Ticket types & registration
FIMA is primarily a professional agricultural trade fair. Previous visitor information published by Feria de Zaragoza states that professional accreditation was available free of charge, including online registration and registration points at the venue.
For 2028, the exact visitor registration process and any changes to access conditions should be confirmed through the official registration platform when registration opens.
Potential visitor categories include:
- Professional agricultural visitors
- Farmers and agricultural producers
- Cooperatives
- Agricultural machinery distributors
- Manufacturers and importers
- Agricultural consultants and engineers
- Researchers and educators
- Public administration representatives
- Technology and digital agriculture professionals
- Media and technical press
For exhibitors, the previous edition’s published technical rates included registration fees of approximately $548 for early registration and $664 for later registration, based on the organiser’s published euro rates and converted to USD. These were exhibitor participation charges rather than visitor ticket prices and should not be interpreted as the 2028 visitor admission fee.
Registration deadlines
The visitor registration deadline for FIMA 2028 has not yet been announced.
Professional visitors should register through the official event platform once registration opens. Registering in advance is recommended because Feria de Zaragoza uses professional accreditation for trade events and has previously provided online accreditation to speed up entry.
For the 2028 FIMA awards, the organiser has already announced an important deadline: applications for the Technical Innovations Competition and Excellence Award are scheduled to close on 12 November 2027, with the jury decision scheduled for 10 January 2028. These deadlines apply to award participation rather than ordinary visitor registration.
Exhibitor list & major companies
The final FIMA 2028 exhibitor list has not yet been published. Feria de Zaragoza currently promotes the upcoming edition as bringing together more than 1,200 brands and exhibitors, with international participation and a strong focus on machinery, technology, irrigation and digitalisation.
The previous edition provides an indication of the event’s scale. FIMA 2026 reached 1,267 exhibitors, comprising 618 Spanish exhibitors and 649 international exhibitors. Participants came from 35 countries.
Companies and organisations associated with the FIMA ecosystem include:
- CLAAS
- KUHN Ibérica

These names should be regarded as companies connected with FIMA’s organising and industry network, not as a final confirmed 2028 exhibitor list. The official exhibitor directory should be used once the 2028 list is released.
Exhibition halls & floor plan
The detailed FIMA 2028 floor plan has not yet been published. The official site currently provides the previous exhibition’s interactive pavilion plan while preparation for the upcoming edition continues.
The previous layout used Halls 1 through 9 together with the North Square and South Square.
The previous edition’s sector distribution provides a useful indication of how visitors may navigate the exhibition. Halls 1 and 2 concentrated fertilizers, crop protection, irrigation, greenhouses, seeds and nurseries. Halls 3 and 4 included components, accessories, agro-energy, handling and storage, post-harvest, precision agriculture, transport and tractors. Halls 6, 7 and 8 included areas such as forestry, tillage, harvesting, sowing, planting, tractors and land transformation. A dedicated FIMA Tech area was introduced for agricultural digitalisation.
The final 2028 pavilion assignments should be checked against the official interactive map before visiting.
Networking & business meetings
Business networking is one of FIMA’s main purposes. The fair connects manufacturers, distributors, farmers, cooperatives, importers, exporters, consultants, engineers, technology specialists and public institutions in a single professional environment.
International networking is particularly important. Feria de Zaragoza states that FIMA 2028 will facilitate networking with brands from 35 countries and continue its international approach to agricultural business.
Previous editions have also included commercial missions and business meetings supported by ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones. These initiatives are designed to bring international buyers and professional visitors together with Spanish companies.
For exhibitors, the fair provides an opportunity to demonstrate equipment directly to potential buyers. For visitors, it offers the chance to compare competing technologies, arrange meetings and establish contacts across different parts of the agricultural supply chain.
Industry sectors & highlights
FIMA 2028 is structured around 12 strategic sectors:
- Fertilizers, phytosanitary products and crop protection
- Digital agriculture
- Agro-energy
- Components and accessories
- High-value specialty crops
- Tillage, sowing and planting
- Harvesting and post-harvest
- Irrigation, energy and water management
- Tractors and multi-purpose vehicles

The breadth of these sectors means FIMA covers much more than tractors and conventional machinery. Visitors can investigate technologies related to production, water, energy, digitalisation, storage, crop protection and agricultural infrastructure.
Event rules & visitor information
FIMA is a professional trade environment, so visitors should complete the appropriate accreditation or registration before arrival.
Professional accreditation is generally personal and non-transferable. Feria de Zaragoza advises visitors to register in advance where possible, although registration facilities may also be available at the venue.
Visitors should also keep their accreditation available throughout their visit and follow venue security and access instructions.
Pets are generally not permitted inside Feria de Zaragoza, with guide and assistance dogs treated differently under the venue’s visitor rules. Accessibility services are available, including assistance for people with reduced mobility.
Because FIMA is a large professional exhibition, comfortable footwear is recommended. Visitors planning to cover multiple halls should also allow sufficient time for walking between exhibition areas.
How to get there
Feria de Zaragoza is located on the A-2 motorway at kilometre 311, providing direct road access from Zaragoza and other major Spanish cities. The venue is also close to Zaragoza Airport and is approximately 15 minutes from central Zaragoza according to Feria de Zaragoza.
For visitors arriving by air, Zaragoza Airport provides the closest airport connection to the exhibition centre.
Visitors travelling by train can arrive at Zaragoza-Delicias railway station. During previous FIMA editions, a dedicated shuttle service connected the station and central Zaragoza with the exhibition centre.
Public transport & parking
Feria de Zaragoza has extensive parking facilities, with the wider exhibition complex providing more than 7,000 parking spaces, including areas for electric vehicles and accessible parking.
Special FIMA shuttle buses have previously operated between central Zaragoza, Zaragoza-Delicias station and Feria de Zaragoza. The organiser has also indicated that a special bus service will be available for the upcoming edition, although the final 2028 routes and timetable should be checked when published.
Public transport and shuttle information should be checked shortly before travelling because routes and departure times can change between editions.
Accommodation areas
The most convenient area for many FIMA visitors is around Feria de Zaragoza and the southern/western parts of the city, particularly for visitors travelling by car.
Central Zaragoza is another practical choice because it provides a larger selection of hotels, restaurants, shops and cultural attractions while remaining relatively accessible to the exhibition centre.
The city centre is particularly useful for international visitors who want to combine the professional exhibition with sightseeing. Feria de Zaragoza promotes hotel offers and accommodation services for visitors and exhibitors, with special arrangements sometimes available through the event.
When booking accommodation, visitors should consider the morning journey to the venue, especially during busy exhibition days. Hotels near Zaragoza-Delicias can also be convenient for visitors arriving by high-speed train.
Previous year’s highlights
The previous edition established a strong benchmark for the 2028 event. FIMA 2026 brought together 1,267 exhibitors represented by 618 Spanish and 649 international exhibitors, while 187,875 visitors from 35 countries attended the fair. The exhibition covered 88,480 square metres and featured more than 80 technical sessions.
The edition also strengthened FIMA’s technology focus with the launch of FIMA Tech, a dedicated space bringing together companies, startups, research centres and institutions working on agricultural digitalisation.
Another important development was the expansion of professional networking and international business activity. The fair continued to position itself as a meeting place for manufacturers, distributors, farmers and agricultural professionals from different markets.
Innovation awards were also central to the event, recognising technical developments in agricultural machinery and solutions with practical value for the sector.
